Yes we are still around and very much flying, in fact for up to date information of our activity please see our page on Facebook here.
Harrogate Model Flying Club is based in Harrogate in the heart of North Yorkshire. The club originally started in the mid 60’s flying on the Stray, the club has grown steadily since its inception and currently has approximately 40 members.
Nowadays we have several flying sites, for the 2026 season we have Goldsborough for small models and electric and for silent flight we have a site near Beckwithshaw, but our main flying is on Saturdays at Dishforth Airfield which allows us to fly larger aircraft than would be practical at our other sites (check out the Gallery to see the sorts of aircraft our members fly).
We welcome all levels of ability, from a novice with a small basic aircraft to experienced pilots with a large aircraft, helicopter or glider.

As the Harrogate Model Flying Club is a BMFA affiliated club all our members must also members of the BMFA, this gives us model flying insurance and the opportunity to promote our hobby and progress by participating in the BMFA certification schemes.
